You are invited to take part in a study about individual differences in cognitive ‘brain types’ and to link these differences to psychological characteristics such as personality traits, cognitive skills, mental health, and musical habits.

This involves completing a series of online questionnaires developed by Professor Simon Baron-Cohen and colleagues at the University of Cambridge. It also includes a few questions about your endocrine health and, if applicable, any genetic diagnoses you may have. Overall, this shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes to complete. We hope you will find this study interesting, and it will help us to better understand the role of sex in brain development.

After completing the questionnaires, you will receive your results which describe your “brain type”. Brain type is the difference in your drive for empathising (interest in emotions) and your drive for systemising (interest in systems). This is not a clinical test but a way of analysing the diversity in everyone’s personality and behaviour.
